The All-State chorus and band is a recognition that students work for each year. The students go to audition to be a part of the best of the best in the state. It is not an easy task to get into the All-State chorus or band. After being chosen, they went down on Thursday, March 6th and spent that night, Friday, and Saturday in Charleston, WV. On the first day, students spent about seven hours rehearsing and about nine hours the next day perfecting their pieces for the performance. There are roughly three hundred students in the choir and band. St. Marys High School had two students attend, one in the choir and one in the band. These students are McKenna Broce (choir) and Jacob Asher (band). McKenna is an alto one and Jacob played the tuba. This will be McKenna’s third year and Jacob’s first year. St. Marys was excited to be represented by these two outstanding students.
