St. Marys High School’s girls’ basketball team has qualified for the Single A championship game. This could be their first win in 36years. The 1990 team played in the Class AA division at that time, and they recorded the schools third state title that year with a 24-2 record.
In the semi-final., St. Marys had the upper hand most of the game, holding the lead for almost 23 of the 32 minutes of the game. Tug Valley only led for 4:41 in the game but their last lead was in the final minutes of the contest and it looked like they might pull off an unbelievable comeback. After the opening period, Tug led 16-15 but the Lady Devils turned up the defensive pressure in the second frame holding the Lady Panthers to only six tallies while posting 14 points.
Brynnley Bulluck scored eight of her game-high 27 points in the period and Anna Bennett posted six markers to account for all of St. Marys scoring.
