With graduation coming up in just a short few weeks, the seniors have many important dates ahead.
May 11-14: Senior Exams and Graduation Prep
From May 11th through May 14th, seniors will complete their final exams and continue prepping for graduation events. Mandatory indoor walking practice will take place on May 13th and May 14th, during advisory. All scholarship information and graduation speeches must be sent to Mrs. Rinard by May 14th. Students should also make sure all assignments and coursework are completed.
May 15: Senior Trip, Students Last Day, and Final Grades Due
May 15th is an important deadline for the Class of 2026, as all senior grades (exams, assignments and work) must be completed and turned in by this day. Seniors attending the senior trip will travel to Cedar Point, while the students not attending will still be required to report to school.
May 18: Awards Day Ceremony
The Senior Awards Day Ceremony will be held on May 18th at 9 a.m. in the SMHS auditorium. Seniors must arrive dressed professionally in their cap and gown and are required to attend the full day from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The ceremony will recognize scholarships, academic achievements, senior awards, MOVTI honors, and will include the senior slideshow and a special senior gift presentation.
May 19: Graduation Walking Practice
Mandatory graduation walking practice will begin on May 19th at 10 a.m. on the SMHS football field, weather permitting. Seniors should dress appropriately for the weather and bring water. Attendance is required for students planning to participate in commencement.
May 20: Senior Walk Through
Seniors will report to the SMHS commons by 8:30 a.m. on May 20th wearing their cap and gown for the senior walk through. Additional walking practice will follow afterward.
May 21: Final Walking Practice and Senior Picnic
The final mandatory graduation walking practice will take place on May 21st at 10 a.m. on the football field. Following practice, senior will attend the senior picnic at the marina as one of the final events before graduation week concludes.
May 23: Alumni Parade
The Class of 2026 is able to participate in the Alumni Parade on May 23rd. Valedictorians, the Salutatorian, Homecoming Queen, Mr. Sexy Legs, Mr. SMHS, Miss Bette Davis Eyes, and Prom King and Queen are permitted to ride but must arrange their own card for the parade. Participants should report to the St. Marys Marina at 10 a.m.
May 24: Commencement Ceremony
The St. Marys High School Class of 2026 commencement ceremony will be held May 24th at 7 p.m. at the Bill Hanlin Stadium. Seniors must arrive to the SMHS auditorium by 6 p.m. dressed in professional attire with their cap and gown. Families are encouraged to arrive before 6:45 p.m., and no tickets will be required for entry.
