SMHS applied for a waiver with WVDE for some of our school cancellations. The waiver request has been approved by the WVDE. This means that due to the state-wide severe weather (state of emergency) in January, we do not have to make up some of the days that were missed.
Spring break for students will continue to be observed as originally scheduled: Monday, March 30– Tuesday, April 7 for students. Staff only will return on Tuesday, April 7 for a Professional Learning Day. Students will return to school on Wednesday, April 8.
Administration anticipates that Friday, May 22 will be the last day for the students. However, this is contingent on any additional “inclement weather” days that may occur.
