Because October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, SMHS Leo Club sponsored a Cancer Care drive. Items and money were donated from community members at two football games and from students throughout the month of October. On Nov. 16, a group of 20 students took a field trip to Marietta Memorial Hospitals Strecker Cancer Center in Belpre, OH. They donated about 20 cancer care bags to Strecker, and 10 will go to WVU Medicines Cancer care bags we’re given to staff members and students to pass along to family members or community members they know have cancer.
