During the biggest race of the season, the XC Championship, all of the 6 Lady Devils had placed Top 25 of the 64 girl who had ran in the 5K race. Nothing in cross country is a promise, so the fact that these girls proved themselves with such high placements is a feat. St. Marys had won against the runner up, Trinity Christian, by a solid 11 points. This scoring was 57-68. Charleston Catholic was third with 73 points, Ritchie County was fourth with 91, and Wirth County finishes the top 5 with 93 points. That covers the Top 5.
One of our Lady Devils, Anna Bennett, had scored third place overall. Such an impressive achievement. The other Lady Devils’ placements were Savana Burd in 7th, Maddie Smith in 19th, Brooklyn Davis in 23rd, Mariah Whitlock in 24th, and Sidni Gerlach in 25th place. Again, all these girls had made it to the Top 25, which is above average placement in the race. They ran and they crossed that finish line with talent.
For the boys’ team, the Blue Devils, had placed third with 85 points. The other teams were Charleston Catholic in first (14 points) and Trinity Christian in second (44-58 point margin). In fourth place was the Ritchie County Rebels (108 points) and fifth place was Tucker County (110 points). The top man for the Blue Devils was Bryce Bills, placing third overall. The other placements for our Blue Devils were Parker Barnes in 7th, Caden Kimball in 25th, Noah Mote in 29th, Wyatt Payne in 32nd, Desmond Parks in 33rd, and Carter Sole in 35th. Incredible job to you Lady Devils and Blue Devils!
