I recently watched The Housemaid without knowing much about it except the spoilers I saw on TikTok, which I think was the best way to go into the movie. The movie follows a young adult, Millie, who accepts a job as a live-in housemaid for a wealthy family, hoping for a fresh start. At first, everything seems normal, but the longer she stays in the house, the more uncomfortable things become. The movie does a great job of slowly building suspense rather than revealing everything at once. Small details, strange interactions, and the isolated setting of the house create a tense atmosphere that keeps the audience guessing. Since I went into the movie without reading the book, each plot twist felt unexpected, making the experience more exciting.  

Overall, I would definitely recommend The Housemaid to anyone who enjoys suspenseful movies. It was such a good movie because it kept my attention the entire time and never felt boring, which is something I usually struggle with when I watch things. The storyline is easy to follow but still full of surprises and things I definitely didn’t expect, which made it enjoyable to watch. I also liked how the movie made me constantly question what was really going on, which added to the excitement. Even without knowing anything about the book, the movie was entertaining and engaging from beginning to end. The Housemaid is a great choice if you’re looking for a thrilling movie that keeps you interested and your mouth on the ground the whole time.
