I chose to review the movie “The Texas Chainsaw Massacre”. The movie is about a group of young adults who go to visit a rural small town and end up falling victims to a psychotic killer. I watched this film for a movie night with my boyfriends and we both agreed we enjoyed it. This movie definitely classifies as a horror movie. I personally did not find this film to be confusing but for people who hasn’t watched the film “ Leathureface” which is the story of how the killer came to be then I’m sure it might be a little hard to understand.
I wouldn’t say I cared for any of the characters other then feeling sorry for the ones being killed but you don’t really get to know most of the characters. This movie is not a sequel but as I mentioned the movie “Leathureface” is the origin story of the killer in “ The Texas Chainsaw Massacre”. I would describe the acting as very believable and well executed. But on the other hand, some of the events in this movie where just plain unrealistic, there where times that characters as well as the killer should have been dead and just kept on going. They portrayed the killer as if he was an immortal being who wouldn’t die and he wasn’t, he was a regular human being.
I wasn’t personally moved by any of the quotes in the movie but there are several moments that really catch your attention. I believe that all the information in and about this movie is accurate and very well portrayed. I would defiantly describe this movie as engaging because some moments in this movie will have you at the edge of your seat. This film defiantly Warren’s a trigger warning because of the graphic content and profane language. I would compare this film to the horror movie “terrifier” because they are both about psychotic killer who causes a massacre.
If I had to say I leaned something from this movie it would be to if you are traveling listen to the locals because they know what they are talking about. I would recommend this movie as a date night movie or if your children are of age then a scary family movie night. I would give “ The Texas Chainsaw Massacre” an 8/10.
