This year the SMHS staff raised the expectations for student council representatives. Students were required to create at least one campaign poster as well as give a speech in front of their class or the entire student body depending on what they were running for. Awards were given to students who went above and beyond for their campaigning posters.
Student council will be having their first meeting Friday, Sept. 9. Mrs. Campano is the student council adviser again this year. In this meeting they will be discussing homecoming, including the students voting on parade marshal and attendants. Junior officers will be responsible for the parade. Student council members will be meeting during links/lunch each Friday until homecoming. Student council will spend the next month planning for Homecoming which is Oct. 7.
Student body officers for 2022 include: Lily Hamilton, Sage Harper, Ella Smith and Alexis Eddy. Senior class officers include: Kamryn Armstrong, Allie Amos, Lilli Snyder, Aliyah Bennett and Zoe Davis. Junior class officers include: Andlyn Corathers, Ava Giovinazzo, Joleen McBrayer, Halle DeWeese and Teagan Hunt. Sophomore class officers include: Addison Parks, Tyler Niemczyk, Natalie Bartrug, Ryleigh Haught and Kyleigh Rupert. Freshman class officers include: Sidney Kisner, Hannah Dutton, Kya Taylor, Layla Snivley and Alyssa Dawson. The class advisors include: Mrs. Rinard, Mr. Mote, Mrs. Null, Mr. Lancaster, Mr. Simonton, Mrs. VanZile and Mrs. Creighton.
