Unusual Pets

You always hear about the most common pets that people have. For example, dogs, cats, hamsters, fish, and ect. But do you ever think about some of the uncommon pets or some say “unusual” pets people have? Some of the most uncommon pets people have are, Ocelots, Fennec Foxes, Sugar Gliders, Chinchillas, Degus, Pogonas, and Hyacinth Macaws.

You hear of people getting pets because they’re lonely or even just because the animal is cute. But these animals can be very difficult to care for. Difficult to care for but also a lot of money. “Pet Spending in the U.S. Increased from $460 in 2013 to $770.” That is a lot of money, and the more breeds of animals that come out the more money gets spent each year.
When you are lonely and have no one keeping you company, pets can really help. Unlike common pets, one of the uncommon pets a Hyacinth Macaw can learn to talk. Dogs, Cats, Hamsters, and Fish can’t do that. Having someone to talk to or keep company can help a lot of people. That is why an uncommon pet could be useful. More people have pets than you think, “66% of U.S. households (86.9 million homes) own a pet.” But when you can be one of the few people who own an uncommon pet or special pet that can do more than a common pet, why would you not want to?
