Ten young ladies are seeking the title of Queen of the 20th annual Pleasants county Agricultural Youth Fair. The pageant, which is open to the public, is set for Friday, Sep.13, at 6:30 p.m. in the auditorium of St. Marys High School. The semi-formal contest is sponsored by the fair board in conjunction with the St. Marys Oracle and Pleasants County Leader. It will include personal introductions and questioning from three judges. The newly crowned will receive a $500 cash scholarship for her efforts, along with a sash, tiara, flower bouquet, trophy and and additional prizes from area businesses. The queen must be a two-year member in good standing of the SMHS FFA Chapter or Pleasants County 4-H organization and have completed a project recognized by the fair. She must be 14-21 years old before Aug. 1, 2019, must be single, never married, have no children or be expecting and must not marry during her reign nor become pregnant. Contestants are, Kamryn Armstrong, 14 years old, Maddie Eaton, 15, Mariah Evans, 15, Mackenzie Heflin, 17, Tressa Lamp, 16, Shianne McBrayer, 17, Grace Morgan, 14 and Teddi Northrop, 17.
