Dancing with the Stars is a reality TV show hosted by Alfonso Ribeiro and Julianne Hough. The show consists of three judges, Carrie Ann Inaba, Derek Hough, and Bruno Tonioli, who all have serious dance backgrounds. The show premiered on ABC in 2005 and has been a hit ever since. I enjoy watching the show every Tuesday at 8:00pm on ABC. The show pairs celebrities with professional ballroom dancers to compete against each other. The couples are judged on a 10-point scale from each judge and then can receive votes from the audience from live, online voting. The couple who receives the lowest combination of judges’ scores and audience votes usually get eliminated at the end of the night. This continues throughout the show until one couple is crowned champion.
Dancing with the Stars is an exciting show that keeps you entertained each week. Seeing the different styles of dance each week is interesting and shows you a lot about the art of dance. I enjoy seeing the celebrities try and do ballroom dance because it is a lot more difficult than most realize, and many face challenges throughout. The glamour and entertainment it provides is amazing, and it is so much fun to watch the talent of the professionals and their hard work. Another thing I like about the show is seeing some of my favorite celebrities’ personalities. Normally, you do not see famous individuals’ true personalities, but in this setting, you can see how they are outside of their careers. I would recommend Dancing with the Stars to anyone who enjoys dancing and reality TV shows.
