The St. Marys golfers were underdogs coming into the Little Kanawha Conference Championships which took place on Monday September 29th, but they came out on top earning runner-up. The team, consisting of Trevor Maley, Tripp Morrison, Desmond Parks and Carter Edwards competed at the Mingo Bottom Golf Course in Elizabeth against 16 teams with a total of 70 kids. The Blue Devils finished only one stroke ahead of Doddridge and 11 ahead of Wirt County. St. Marys came out determined as they pushed ahead of many teams they had failed to defeat in regular season. Wahama took home the championship trophy, tallying out at 28-over par which pushed them 22 strokes ahead of St. Marys.
Trevor Maley and Tripp Morrison also made the all-conference team along with Grant Roush and Brady Meadows of Wahama, J.J Smith of Wirt County, Madilyn Buttrey of Williamstown, Trayton Hall of Doddridge County, John Mace of Tyler Consolidate, Seth Stewart of Gilmer County and Jordan King of South Harrison. Overall, Trevor Maley placed sixth, Tripp Morrison seventh, Desmond Parks 20th and Carter Edwards 31st.
