On Sunday Sept. 14, eight students at St. Marys High School attempted to become the next Pleasants County Agricultural Youth Fair Queen. The queen candidates were Autumn Mossor, Adalyn Mayle, Rylee Renner, Ava Yonker, Riley Rupert, Isabella Cronin, Dessie Fickiesen and Olivia Holmes. The eight ladies had to fill out an informational questionnaire, give a speech based on a randomized question from the judges, be between the ages of 14-21, and be a two-year member in the St. Marys High School FFA program or the Pleasants County 4H program.
At the end of the pageant, senior, Dessie Fickiesen was crowned the 2025 Pleasants County Agricultural Youth Fair Queen. Dessie took on the new responsibility and had to do various activates at the fair along with showing her own feeder calf and market hog. Fickiesen was asked what her favorite thing is about being AG Fair queen, she answered, “Being able to represent my community.”
