I am reviewing the popular TV show “The Summer I Turned Pretty.” “The Summer I Turned Pretty” is a popular young-adult romance series that has 3 seasons on Amazon Prime Video. The show finished its final season this September and was a huge sensation. Viewers tuned in every Wednesday to watch “The Summer I Turned Pretty” when the episodes would drop, anxious to see what would happen. The show is based on the books written by Jenny Han. The main actor is Lola Tung, who plays the main role as Belly Conklin, a teenager who is involved in a love triangle with brothers Conrad and Jeremiah, played by Christopher Briney and Gavin Casalegno.
This show starts with two families who come together every summer at a beach house. Until one summer, when the brothers realized they were in love with Belly, who was their dear family friend. Belly then goes on with perusing the brothers, hurting both in the process. As she continues to go back and forth between them, someone always ends up alone. “The Summer I Turned Pretty” causes lots of suspenseful and heartbreaking moments and can cause frustrated feelings in the audience, although many enjoyed the rush of the teenage love triangle. Fans continued to start to decide if they were “team Conrad” or “team Jeremiah.” This was based on which character they liked more with Belly or who drew the most passionate feelings from the viewers. I enjoyed watching “The Summer I Turned Pretty” very much, and I can confidently say I am on “team Conrad.”
