On Thursday, Aug. 28, the golfers of Doddridge County won the 2025 St. Marys Invitational Golf Tournament. Hosted by the St. Marys golf team, this event took place at the St. Marys Golf Club with a number of twelve teams and one partial team taking part in it. A total of 66 golfers attended the match, and Doddridge County took the gold out of the twelve teams and one partial.
They, the Doddridge County Bulldogs, defeated runner up, John Marshall, at a staggering 285 strokes, whereas John Marshall had 298, 13 more strokes and had taken second place. Third place was claimed by the Yellowjackets with a 302 score, Blue Devils, the hosts of the event, lost the tie and ended with a score of 303 strokes. Lastly, for the top five winners of the Invitational, 5th place was Weir with their score being of 326 strokes.
To end it off, rounding out the top finishers named onto the all-tournament team, the golfers are Hayden Harvey of John Marshall, John Mace of Tyler Consolidated, Brayden Kempkens of John Marshall, Trayvon Hall of Doddridge County, J.J. Smith of Wirt County, and Wyatt Siley of Williamstown.
