On Friday, April 11th, the Lady Devils had an 8-0 victory over Tyler Consolidated. Brylee McGrady was a perfect 4-for-4 at the plate, while Autumn Mossor and Cali Maters combined on a three-hit shutout helped gain a win. At Tyler, McGrady had almost half of the nine hits, including a double and two runs. Ella Bullman recorded two hits, a triple, and scored a pair of runs. Cali Masters, Adaleigh McGrady, and Emmalee Mossor had the rest of the hits. Emmalee Mossor, Autumn Mossor, Madison Sturgeon, and Jayla Cox all had one RBI a piece.
On Saturday, April 12th, the Lady Devils accomplished yet another win. This time over Ontario, OH. Cali Masters struck out 16 in a complete-game effort as she pitched the Lady Devils to a 3-1 victory. The visitors paid for a two-out error in the bottom of the second inning. Landry Riggs hit a two-run home run to left field, giving St. Marys all of the runs they would need to win.
Unfortunately, the second game of the double header on Saturday, April 12th, resulted in a loss. St. Marys took a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the first on a run-scoring single by Masters and an RBI ground out by Alyssa Winland. The Lady Devils held tightly onto the lead until a two-run home run tied the game in the top of the fourth. Cali Masters and Emmalee Mossor had two hits. Ella Bullman and Brylee McGrady each had one.
On Monday, April 14th, the St. Marys Lady Devil softball team beat the undefeated Doddridge County Lady Bulldogs, 3-2. The extra inning at the end of the game played a significant role in allowing the Lady Devils to secure their win. Autumn Mossor led off the ninth inning with a single to the left field. Cali Master was also impressive, fanning 19 batters and yielding two runs over nine innings. Ella Bullman helped the Lady Devils’ offense with two hits, stealing a base, and scoring a run. Brylee McGrady doubled twice, collecting three hits and an RBI.
