The St. Marys High School Lady Devils softball team started their season strong, winning five straight games as they begin their defense of the state title.
Senior pitcher Cali Masters led the team, going 3-0 and striking out 61 batters over 24 innings. She threw a no-hitter against Sherman, allowing no runs and only a few walks. Autumn Mossor also helped on the mound, picking up wins for the Lady Devils.
The team’s offense was just as strong. Ella Bullman hit a triple and a double, while Brylee McGrady and Landrey Riggs each hit home runs. The Lady Devils beat Ravenswood, Sherman, Tyler Consolidated, Tug Valley, and Williamstown to start 5-0.
