St. Marys High School’s wrestling team delivered a standout performance at this week’s Little Kanawha Conference (LKC) Tournament, earning a fourth-place finish. Freshman Kyle Bullman and senior Alex Baltazar each captured individual titles, marking the Blue Devils’ best finish since 2018.
Bullman, competing in the 106-pound weight class, bounced back from a second-round loss to win the consolation bracket and secure a championship with a pin over South Harrison’s Maddix Lewis. He improved his season record to 36-4.
In the 285-pound division, Baltazar dominated, winning the championship with two pins, including a decisive victory over Braxton County’s Shawn Toler in the finals. Baltazar’s season record now stands at 33-6.
With 106 team points, St. Marys secured its best finish since 2006, showcasing the strength of their wrestling program.
