Pleasants County students have missed 12 days of classes due to weather-related closures since August. To meet the state’s 180-day requirement, several make-up days are scheduled, including February 12 and 20, which will be made up on May 27-28.
Curriculum director Eric Croasmun explained that earlier closures, including those in August and January, were covered by adding extra minutes to school days and using “Snow Packet Days” for non-traditional instruction.
Future closures may require additional make-up days, starting with April 14-17 for closures 13-16. If more closures occur, make-up days will continue into May, potentially cutting into spring break.
