Thespian Troupe 1901 is a competitive theatre troupe. These students go to the area-festival in hopes of qualifying for the state competition. This year, the troupe is comprised of 13 students. These students include Emma Weikart, Autumn Harper, Kendall McGee, Jacob Mets, Lily Westbrook, Liam Loughner, Bella Tagliarini, Sam Lauderman, Eliott Chipps, Serenity Thompson. Along with our lights and sound; Max Dauch, Bricia Shultz and Maddison Kern. The troupe earlier announced that they were produding “Back Cover;” a moving tale about what New York citizens’ experiences during 9/11.
On Jan. 30 the students went after school to perform at Parkersburg South and compete against Parkersburg South. Luckily our students pulled at the win and get to advance to the state competition on March 27 –29.
Along with the play advancing Bricia Shultz advanced with her winning mask. She made the Cheshire Cat as a mask for the competition. The troupe also has two students who made two different plays. Emma Weikart made “What if…” a tale about how to get through grief and loss through escaping reality with imagination. The other student is Maddison Kern with “The Fourth Wall Wedding” a tale about a couple getting married but everything goes wrong. The groom is the only one aware of what all is going wrong. We wish luck to all our students and hope they do an amazing job.
