Saint Marys High School students demonstrated outstanding teamwork and social skills during their annual Community Service Day, an event that saw every student participate in various local projects. The event, held earlier this week, is part of the school’s commitment to fostering civic responsibility and community engagement.
Each student was assigned a specific task, from cleaning up the gym and classrooms to helping at nearby shelters and senior centers. The students worked in groups, showing exceptional cooperation and organizational skills as they tackled their assignments. Teachers and school staff were on hand to oversee the projects, but the students took the lead, using their social skills to coordinate efforts and communicate effectively with one another and the community members they assisted.
The event not only helped improve the local environment but also provided students with valuable real-world experience. Many of them reported feeling a strong sense of pride in their contributions.
