The movie, How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days is about a woman named Andie, who works for a magazine and decides to write an article about how to lose a guy in 10 days. She picks a man, Ben, to use for her experiment. What she doesn’t know is that Ben has his own challenge-to make woman fall in love with him in 10 days. The plot follows both Andie and Ben as they try to accomplish their separate goals without the other knowing, which leads to a lot of funny moments. This movie is a romantic comedy, I first watched it with my mom several years ago.
The plot is straightforward and is easy to understand because the movie has a lighthearted tone and follows a clear script. I cared about Andie and Ben because they are both funny and charming, which makes you want to see how things work out between them. There is no sequel but movies like 10 Things I Hate About You or The Proposal has a similar feel. The acting was very good in this movie. Kate Hudson and Matthew McConaughey have good chemistry, making the movie fun to watch. I will say some events were exaggerated for comedy, but it makes the movie more entertaining.
The scenes where Andie try pushing Ben away are memorable because of their humor. I learned that thus movie explores the idea of relationships and how people sometimes act differently to impress or drive away others. I recommend this movie for anyone who enjoys lighthearted romantic comedies. I would give this movie a 7/10. It is funny and entertaining, although a bit predictable.
