This week is college application, and the senior class has had the opportunity to meet some college representatives and learn about different schools. As a senior myself, I believe that this week and the events that Mrs. Rinard sets up for us is very beneficial. We have the chance to talk to admissions counselors and learn things that we wouldn’t know about college. Many representatives have come in to teach us about programs and how life at their college or university would work. My classmates and I have been able to see what colleges will work for us and our desired majors. Without people advising us, we would be stuck going to the same places around home because we wouldn’t know anything different, and we wouldn’t be encouraged to go explore and do what’s best for us.
This week is very helpful for the senior class and me. It gives people the chance to learn about college if they are first generation students or they don’t know a lot about it. It also gives people the chance to see if college is for them or if it isn’t for them. Us seniors are able to see different programs and further explore our interests. I highly recommend listening to college representatives when they visit our school because they can help you and give you information that you might not know. I have learned that some colleges aren’t fit for me and some colleges are. These things are the opportunities that some people need to take, so that they can be guided in what to do in their future.
