Homecoming week is an exciting week for St Marys High School. There are a lot of events that the students are looking forward to. On Monday, Oct. 21, at 2 p.m. there is a powderpuff game where the seniors vs. the juniors.
Throughout the week every day is a different theme: Monday is class color day; 9th grade red, 10th grade purple, 11th grade pink, and 12th grade blue. On Tuesday, the theme is Adam Sandler Day, Wednesday is Country vs. Country Club, Thursday is Dynamic Duo Day, and Friday is Dress Your Class Day; 9th grade are babies, 10th grade are kids, 11th grade are adults, and 12th grade are senior citizens.
Students are also looking forward to seeing who is going to be crowned the 71st Belle of St Marys. The Belle candidates for 2024 are as follows; Natalie Bartrug and her escort Jay Mote, Ella Bullman and her escort Preston Lawhon, Baylee Dilling and her escort Brady Rinard, Callie Powell and her escort Jaden Jones and Andrea Yoho and her escort Caiden Perkins.
On Friday the students of SMHS will have a pep rally before homecoming. The annual homecoming parade will start at 4:30 p.m. where the community will see all the fall sports, belle candidates, and the 9-12th graders’ floats. Followed by the homecoming game where the Blue Devils will take on the Ritchie County Rebels at 7:30 p.m. The Homecoming dance is on Oct. 26, at 7:00 p.m. and will last until 10:00 p.m. Concessions will be available. Tickets for the Haunted Homecoming will be $7.00. Hope everyone has a fantastic homecoming week and has a lot of fun!
