What is studio art? Studio art is creating art for visual pleasure of the viewers. Studio art can be done in many different mediums and in many unique styles. The world revolves around forms of art because that is how human beings differentiate themselves from primates and other animals.
What are the positives of studio art? Studio art can help soothe a racing mind and is a healthier outlet to express feelings than other methods. Creating something can help a person process and remember information and can also help articulate their ideas nonverbally. “Studio art gives more freedom to be expressive and have the ability to be creative and experiment.” This is from student Kendall McGee.
The only downfall that comes with art is the mindset most people have that they are no good at art. This mindset hurts them because with a mindset like that it can prevent them from wanting to do art because they feel inferior. This mindset can be broken but it will take time and a lot of reassurance from peers and family around.
As stated above there are diverse ways (mediums) to express oneself that further its reach besides pencil and paint. There are oil pastels, crayons and colored pencils. Oil pastels are crayon like sticks that are oil based that produce color. The downfall of using oil pastels is that they smear like charcoal does. Crayons are great for coloring but are hard to blend because the crayons are mostly made of wax. They also have a hard sense of control as they cannot be sharpened as well as a pencil can be. Colored pencils have more control than what crayons do but have the same issue when blending because the cheaper ones are made with most of wax for its core.
