The atmosphere at the regional event was electric, with fans and families rallying behind the team, who showcased their prowess on the course and proved their mettle against fierce competition.
Leading the charge was junior Trent Renner, who fired an impressive -1, a score that not only highlighted his individual talent but also set the tone for the team’s performance. Meanwhile, senior Preston Lawhon’s steady hand on the back nine turned heads as he finished even par with an extraordinary 5-under performance over those last nine holes. His ability to close out the round with such finesse showcased the grit and resilience that St. Mary’s players have developed throughout the season.
Kenzie Armstrong also made significant contributions, carding a solid 73. The senior’s experience and composure were invaluable to the team, especially in high-pressure situations. Although Tripp Morrison faced some challenges and finished with an 86, his efforts and team spirit were instrumental in rallying the squad together.
