Student council is a group of elected student representatives who act as a bridge between the student body and school administration. Their role involves organizing events, addressing student concerns, and promoting school spirit. Members work together to improve the school environment, plan activities like dances and fundraisers, and advocate for student needs. Through meetings and collaborative projects, they develop leadership skills, teamwork, and communication abilities. Student council helps foster a sense of community and engagement, making sure students have a voice in shaping their school experience. It’s an opportunity for students to actively contribute to their school’s culture and success. The first student council meeting was held Wednesday, Aug. 28 where we discussed new ideas for the year. Next meeting will be held Sept. 18 during advisory where we will be deciding on homecoming theme, spirit days and other homecoming activities. The sophomore class will be in charge of decorating homecoming and the freshman clean up.
