Visiting Magnolia rallied in the fourth quarter for a 60-55 boys’ Basketball victory over St. Marys last Tuesday evening. Trailing 44-38entering the final stanza, Magnolia closed the contest by outscoring St. Marys 22-11over the last eight minutes. The Blue Eagles evened their season record at 9-9 with the win while St. Marys saw its season mark dip to 6-12. Hayden Pyles erupted for 2 points to lead the way to Magnolia, which also got 10 points apiece from Dubale Greathouse and Hunter Oates. St. Marys had a balanced attack that featured four double-digits scorers: Ashton Boron with 13 points, Brody Rice with 12 points and Preston Lawton and Wyatt Pinkerton with 11 points apiece. Pinkerton and Lawton each also had three assists. Shane Moran added four points and two steals and Adam Bennett had two points and a team-best six rebounds. The Blue Devils scoring was rounded out by Eli Cox with two points. Logan Eddy had a pair of steals. St. Marys owned the first half as it outscored Magnolia 22-14 in the second quarter to open up a 34-26 halftime advantage. The Blue Devils remained at home Thursday to entertain.
