The St. Marys girls’ basketball team rolled past Ritchie County at the SMHS Boys and Girls Invitational. The Lady Devils remain ranked fifth in double A. Ten of the devils broke into the scoring column. This was the 19th annual invitational. Addie Davis led scorers with 18 points and led a strong defensive effort. Breanna Price came second in scoring with 17 points and 4 steals.
Freshman Brynnley Bullock added double digits with 12 points and six rebounds. Callie Powell was a catalyst on offense with 7 assists, and 9 points. The devils led 17-5 at the end of the first quarter and never lost the lead. In the second half, St. Mary’s was never threatened as Coach Fred King went deep into his bench. The lady devils built the lead to 58-31.
St. Marys’ scoring was completed by Martin with 7, Anna Bennett with 6, Kylie Sprouse with 3 points, and Avie Sprouse, Sidni Gerlach, and Maddie Smith all with two points apiece. The Devils shot a sizzling 60 percent from the floor, making 34 of their 57 field goal attempts. The lady devils improve to 11-3 on the season.
