Competing in Class A competition, 285 pound wrestler Ben Wagstaff, blew away his competition on the mats in a Ritchie County High School competition. Teams from around the state are attracted to this challenge, so you can say the best of the best that attended. Wagstaff, along with three other blue devils wrestlers earned respectively sixth, seventh and eighth place.
Wagstaff did a remarkable job, as he pinned Flanigan from Williamstown to the mat. Next, he pinned the Buffalos’ Sayen in the semi-finals. The climax came when he pinned Ravenswood’s Phelps in the championship.
