St. Marys High School’s Thespian Troupe competed at the regional competition on Saturday, Jan. 13 at Parkersburg South High School. They earned a spot in the top three and qualified for the state competition in March. The members include Willow Payton, Jack Peyton, Alayne Smith, Bella Tagliarini, Kendall McGee, Emma Weikart, Bricia Shultz, Parker Barnes and Autumn Harper. The theatre department will present two shows in the coming weeks.
The troupe will preform its competition one-act show Tuesday, Feb. 20, at 6 p.m. The piece is titled “About Her” and tells the story of a woman who was dragged out of a social event by her allegedly abusive husband. Their neighbors are left to consider what they know, or what they think they know about the events that followed. The performance will be open to all family, friends and community members and will be presented free of charge. Please make plans to attend this event as the thespian troupe prepares for the state competition in March, said a spokesman.
The troupe will also present “Clue” April 4 and 6 at 6:30 p.m. in the school auditorium. The play is directed by instructor Amber Campano and student Willow Peyton. Tickets will be sold at the door $7 for adults and $5 for students.
