Phones should be allowed in school. Students learn better and have more motivation when they get rewarded with their phones. I’m not saying they should be aloud all the time but taking them away from students is not right expressly when they did not do anything. I mean let just say you are having a family emergency and the teacher takes your phone. Not for being on it in the middle of class but because other students decide to be disrespectful and use them while the teacher is teaching. What if someone’s parents are supposed to pick them up and they can’t contact them to come get them because the teacher took their phone? What if I fire breaks loose and the teacher still has their phone and they can’t contact their parents.
Phones can also be a successful learning tool may it be a calculator or a dictionary. Students with disabilities can use smartphones with specialized communication and learning tools. These tools can significantly improve their daily interactions and education. Mobile phones aren’t just distractions at school. They can be tools for safety, connection, and learning when used responsibly. Creating an environment where schools, parents, and students constructively use phones is possible.
