They are a minor league team, whose best members move up to the Pittsburg Penguins, who are known as one of the most dominant hockey teams in the NHL.
Despite the Nailers being a minor league team, they are very enjoyable to watch, and the team spirit is excellent. Considering the small size of the WesBanco Arena, the Wheeling fans were excellent, and so was the team. Despite falling to their opponent, it was very enjoyable watching them compete and come very close to scoring many times. The cheap entrance fee allows people to watch a professional-level sporting event for a great price. They had halftime events and other competitions that kept the fans entertained the whole time. Additionally, they had a concert at the end for people to stay to listen to great country music.
We paid $40 for four people to watch the game; we sat next to the penalty box, which is a very chaotic and fun place, as the players who have a foul have to sit in “timeout” for a certain amount of time. The Wheeling Nailers are a great team, who hosts fans well and keeps them entertained the whole time.
