When I first watched this film, I wasn’t sure what to expect, but I was pleasantly surprised. This movie is the story of a young boy named Coco who wants to be a musician and somehow finds himself communicating with talking skeletons in the land of the dead. In the land of dead, he ends up meeting his deceased family members, who helped him try to get back to the land of living while also filling him in on why his family is against music.
This film is Mexican folklore with Mexican tradition in its design, along with catchy music and a bit of comedy. I liked how the characters in the movie brought people together and didn’t tear them apart. When I first started watching this film, it started out really colorful with lots of music, and I was taken back by how emotional it was and how it reached the viewers and taught them the importance of family. They really embodied the Mexican traditions in this movie, and I think it was cool to see their traditions and their way of living. The animations in this film were amazing; there were lots of colors all around, and everything looked so realistic. Overall, I would definitely recommend people watch this movie.
