The St.Marys Lady Devils volleyball team played three matches this past week on Monday and Tuesday and came out with a record of 2-1. The Varsity Blue Devils opened with a a tri at Liberty, Clarksburg on Monday with Fairmont Senior.
Against Liberty the Lady Blue Devils came away with a two-set victory with the score of 25-21 in both sets. Mia Schofield led the team with 13 of her 27 kills on offense. They Lady Blue Devils also finished with three aces on serves, and 55 digs, led by Callie Powell’s 16. St.Marys played really well in their victory over Fairmont senior. Lady devils really came game ready winning two sets by a score of 25-16 and then 25-14. Sr.Mary
s finished with 29 kills led by Mia Schofield. Mia Schofield also led the Lady Blue Devils with three of her teams 11 serve aces. Callie Powell had ten of her teams 39 digs in the two-set match victory.
On Tuesday, the Lady Blue devils varsity team took the road to a match against Ravenswood. St.Marys lost that’s one with a set score of 0-3, with each set scored at 22-25, 19-25, and 21-25. Andlyn Corathers finished with 22 assists. Callie Powell with 21 digs, nine kills, and nine points. Mia Schofield had 11 kills followed by Zoey Winland with five. Laura Hacker and Madison Sturgeon finished the match with five points each. Alyssa Winland had five digs and four points. Ava Giovinazzo finished with three digs and one assist. There was also a home with Calhoun County that was postponed and will be rescheduled for some time in October.
