Six ladies from St Marys High School competed for the AG Fair Queen honor on Sept. 10. The requirements to be eligible for the competition include being between 14 and 21 years old, being at least a two-year member with a high standing on the St Marys High School FFA Program or Pleasants County 4H Program. Additionally, they must have competed a project within the calendar year that is recognized by the Pleasants County Agricultural Youth Fair. The high-honoring ladies who qualified include Senior Alyssa Brooker, Senior Delaney Brookover, Senior Mia Schofield, Sophomore Lillian Wiley and Senior Zoey Winland.
To earn the crown, the ladies must give a short, one minute introduction of themselves in the St Marys High School Auditorium, then they will be questioned on the information they presented in their applications. Lastly, they will be individually interviewed by the judges of the competition. Following, was the crowning of the AG Fair Queen. This year’s queen, Delaney Brookover, won the competition and received a trophy, $500 cash scholarship and other gifts.
