Social media has a positive and negative impact on every teen’s mental health. We are on social media every single day from taking selfies and pictures, to messaging our friends. Social media is a positive thing when we use it for communicating with friends and family that we are not able to see every day. Social media is and can be a good and helpful thing, but some people don’t use it in a positive way. Some people feel the need to make fun of someone and hurt their feelings or talk badly about them. This causes a negative impact on teens because they might feel like they need to change their appearance to be liked. This can also cause students in high school and college to fall behind on their work.
Students are spending too much time online and on social media and not getting their Clark work done or paying attention in class. I feel like people spend more time on social media than they should and put out their whole entire lives on social media. We need to remember at the end of the day that even though social media can be a good thing, it’s important for us to realize that a real-world human connection will never be beaten over a internet connection.
