Cross Country is an American sport though out middle school and high school and if your good enough you can even run in college. In middle school you run 1.9-2.1 miles and once you move up to high school you run a 5k (3.1 miles) and in college you run anything from 5k-10k depending on the race. In my opinion cross country is the hardest sport someone can do but, in my favor, I am very talented and am able to run very high distances at a very fast pace.
To get in shape for running is the hardest part but after that you have to run every day. Running everyday does not make you better you have to do workouts going from hills to speed and not everything has to do with actually running. What you do out of your running shoes can sometimes be more helpful at getting better at running and I’m not just talking about getting in the gym and doing different strength lifts. A lot has to do with your diet. Eating not enough can lead to passing out and anemia which is a sickness causing low iron. If you’re running and not eating then your body will not have enough protein to build muscle. And the opposite with eating to much. Running is probably the most popular sport when coming to injuries.
