Uhrichsville, OH hosted the Claymont Early Bird Invitational at 9 a.m. on Aug. 26. SMHS was one of the two West Virginia schools out of the seventeen schools in the small school division. Our boys came out on top with 25 points, beating second place by 48 points. The runner-up was Garaway, OH with 73 points. Coming in third with 104 points was Bellaire, OH. All five of our boys running made top 10 scoring, with Max Dauch being overall champion with a time of 17:30.5. The other four runners had times of; Reece Westfall, 4th(18.34): Parker Barnes, 5th (18:46): Bryce Bills, 6th (18:56.9): Micah Evans, 9th (19:14)
Our girls finished runner-up to Sandy Valley with a deficit of just 5 points. Anna Bennett finished runner-up with a time of 20:45.3 and Virginia Haddox finished 9th with a time of 21:37.2. The other girls’ times were Maddie Smith, 14th ( 22:27.4): Natalie Bartrug, 18th (23.18.7): Savana Burd, 22nd (23:43.5)
