The Blue Devil cheerleaders are looking forward to another awesome season. This summer, they held their own home NCA camp which provided stunt and skill instruction along with a lot of material like dances, cheers, etc to add to their sideline content for games. They have also already learned an amazing routine in preparation for competition season.
This year’s team includes: juniors: Anna Kimball, Savannah Keife Andrea Yoho and Ella Bullman; sophomores: Addy Cummings, Hannah Dutton, Taylor Brode and Layla Snively; freshmen: Isabella Courtney and Ava Yonker.
The squad is led by Coach Jody Bullman who is returning to coach her fourth season at St. Marys High School. She has big plans for her team this year as her athletes have great work ethics and attitudes. She wants to not only focus on competing and cheering on our football and basketball teams, but also on having fun. She is excited for both sports seasons due to all of the events and student sections that come with them.
Bullman believes cheer is beneficial for so many reasons. She says, “It teaches hard work, grit, how to compete, work as a team, and most importantly how to overcome failure. The amount of work and preparation into that 2:30 sec routine is unreal.” So, come out and support our cheer team as they compete at Regional on Nov. 4 and LKC on Nov. 16!
