I asked her a few questions to really understand why she does what she does.

What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
“Traveling! Most of you know that I spend a lot of time at Disney, but there are so many other places that I want to see. Last year we visited Alaska and Hawaii. We’re hoping to make our first international trip next year\; I’m thinking Greece.”

Where did you go to college?
“ I went to Marietta College for my Bachelors degree and OVU for my Masters.”

What is your favorite thing about teaching?
“My favorite thing about teaching is getting to spend my day with some of the most funny and entertaining people that I’ve ever met. No one enjoys the responsibility to work, but it’s nice knowing that my day will never be boring.”

Why did you choose teaching as a career?
“I chose teaching because English was my best subject, and I wasn’t sure what else to do with it. Teaching was a good option because it gives me a lot of time to be home with my family. I’ve also always been attached to the community and I feel like I can have the biggest impact here at the high school.”

Were there any other professions you wanted to go into?
“When I was in middle school I thought about being an optometrist, but then I realized that I was terrible at science.”
